Game Plan
Great training starts here.
If you want training that works, you've got to have a game plan. Throughout many years of experience, Level Up Learning has found there are six key ingredients for making great training.
Have a goal
Designing training without having a goal is like getting in your car and driving without knowing where you’re trying to get to. All training should aim to solve a problem and your goal is what drives the solution to that problem.
Focus on what matters
Cramming training with loads of information only leads to ‘scrap learning’ - learning that’s quickly forgotten and never applied. Focus only on what learners need to get the job done.
Practise makes perfect
People learn best by doing - so, creating training that allows learners to practise new skills in a safe environment will allow them to easily transfer these skills to their jobs and real life.
Make it realistic
Training needs to be realistic to be believable - and learners won’t engage with it if it’s not believable. Use their language, their stories and their images to make your training realistic.
Use stories
Stories have been used to pass down lessons from generation to generation for thousands of years. They engage learners emotionally and allow them to make strong connections between what they’ve learnt in training and how to apply it in real life.
Choose the right medium
With so many options, choosing a delivery medium can be tricky, but getting it right will often determine whether or not your message gets across at the end of the day.
We’ve created Game Plan.
A streamlined, step-by-step approach that will help you conquer these elements to design training that works.
